Ugh POSTED AT 10:38 AM Wow, sorry I haven't posted anything in like forever, I just haven't been feeling really motivated to do much of anything. Well looks like I didn't make it into Jazz Band and Wind Ensemble. I can't say I ever really thought I would, I'm not that good. Oh well, guess it won't be too bad being stuck in Concert Band (famous last words) I am a little annoyed with Bateman (the teacher) not because he didn't let me into J.B. and W.E. but because he wants me to switch mouthpieces. He talked to each section on Friday and when he talked to the trumpets he talked about homogenius (or something like that) sound. It is where we get it so it sounds like it is just one trumpet playing instead of like 7. He looked at our mouthpieces and told me mine was more of a Jazz mouthpiece (no duh, I like Jazz music better than classical, thats why I bought it) and that it would really stick out, so I might want to look into getting a new one. Grrrr....I mean I do have two other mouthpieces but I haven't touched them in like 2 years! I really don't want to switch, I did try playing on one of them a few days ago and boy did it ever suck. My range was awful, my sound was awful, just my everything was awful. Grrrr.... I did start High School this week and I already hate it! It is so boring! I hate like all of my classes (except for maybe Ceramics) and all of the kids at my school really bug me (except for my friends). Like all of the boys are walking around wearing "Hollister" shirts and all the girls are walking around looking like Ashlee Simpson. For those who don't know Hollister is like a surf clothing line, I live in Utah, we are nowhere near any beach whatsover. Like the only major body of water in Utah is a giant salty lake. It just pisses me off whenever I see someone walking around wearing a Hollister shirt in Utah, if you want to wear one in California thats cool, cause you can actually surf there! But chances are if you are wearing a Hollister shirt in Utah you have never even been on a surf board. And I just hate Ashlee Simpson. Grrr....so yeah thats pretty much how my week has been going, I am really bored, really angry, and really sick of being depressed all the time. Grrrr...I hate high school. Ugh Part 2 POSTED AT 02:13 PM Well I officially did not make W.E. and J.B. but I am first chair in Concert Band so that is a plus I guess. Of course it wasn't that hard, not trying to brag but it really wasn't. You see Bateman gave us two short pieces on Tuesday and told us we were going to have a playing test on Thursday. So I went home and called my trumpet teacher and he let me come down and he helped me through them. They really weren't that hard once you go the hang on them. So Thursday came I was shaking so bad before I even walked into the band room (I am very nervous person when it comes to playing tests) I really didn't know how good the other people were, I had only heard them play scales and you can't judge on that. So Bateman had each section go into a different little room or out into the hall and he would audition each section indivually. So the trumpets go into the back and I discovered that I was the only trumpet (out of 8) who had actually practiced the pieces. Well this improved my nerves a bit, but I was still really nervous. When we got called out I was so happy I got to be the first one to go, you see I hate going anything but first in playing tests because then I really start freaking out because I start judging my self on how the other person did. Plus it is better to do it and get it out of the way. Well I went through it very well, I only made a few mistakes (cause of my stupid second valve that no matter how clean or how much oil is on it still sticks! GRRRR!!!!! I HATE YOU SECOND VALVE!) Halfway through the second song we had to play Bateman stopped me and handed me a new mouthpiece to play on. It was rather awkward, it was a good mouthpiece though, the rim is a little bit bigger then the one I am currently playing on. He let me borrow it for the weekend so I have been playing with it. Well all of the other players were awful, I mean awful. It sounded like how a bunch of 7th graders would if they tried to play it. It was painful to listen too. So yeah I am first chair, but I am just afriad of the kind of music we are going to get if the other trumpet players don't even know what the fingering for a high G is (it is open the easiest to remember! You should be able to play a G by 8th grade! The latest 9th!) I have been working on my impromptu notebook all day (I got up at 11:30ish and finished doing all of my quotes by like 2. It is like 3 now, I have been taking a little break) I still have like a ton to do, it isn't due until Tuesday but I wish to get most of it done before then. Ugh, I have to go to stupid block party type thing for my neighborhood tonight. It is to like welcome all the new people who moved in, I really don't want to go and neither does my mom, but we have to make an appearence. I will go, I will eat, and then I will leave. That is the master plan, because I will do anything for free food. So yeah that is basically all that is up. Hope you guys are all well and having a blast wherever you are doing whatever it is you are doing! Listening to: Hats off to (Roy) Harper by Led Zeppelin Feeling: meh |

I've got a test to fail POSTED AT 08:00 PM Wow, has it ever been a long time since I updated. Sorry bout that, I've just been really busy. Well what has been going on in my life? Hmmm...Band is not going very well, debate is going great, ceramics great, history great (I aced my test! I was so happy, now my midterm won't be shit, at least for history), english great, physics not so good cause I don't get like any of the math stuff I am awful at math, music listening bad cause that class is so boring it is a complete waste of my time, and math is going ok I guess I don't get like half the stuff but I hope I did well on the test at least a B I pray for. So yeah like I was saying Physics isn't going to well, just cause I don't get it. The teacher is cool, and I have cool kids in my class, but I just don't get it. We are doing like all the math stuff, which I like don't get, cause I am awful at math. Somehow I don't think I will do very well in physics, cause it is so math involved. I will just have to have my uncle on speed dial, he is like a math genius and loves physics. I will just be calling him like every night. Well I must depart now, I have to get lots of sleep so I can fail my physics test tomorrow! Nighty night! "I'm so tired of being sick, and I'm so sick of being tired." P.S. Hope that Megan and Lada are having a blast at Green Day!
